What is Bio-fuel?
Biofuels are sustainable and economical green fuel to supplement / replace hydrocarbon fuel. Our production technology utilizes novel organism capable of converting both C6 and C5 sugars simultaneously to fuel. The concentration of fuel obtained is higher therefore, the downstream processing cost is reduced.
Sourcing of Bamboos for fuel and other usage
Bamboo is a versatile crop. It can be used in 1,500 different ways including as food, a substitute for wood, building and construction material, for handicrafts and paper. It has unique ability to stitch and repair damaged soils hence bamboo is ideal for rehabilitating degraded soil.
Technology overview
Currently 300,000 bamboos are used with 330 days operation to produce 49,000 MT of ethanol. With same quantity of raw material our technology increases production output to 80,550 MT.
Environment benefits
Reduced carbon foot print for the corporate and government
Farming
Bamboo is a versatile, strong, renewable as well as environment-friendly material that can be easily grown for various purposes. Bamboo is also considered the fastest growing woody plant on earth. The harvesting can be started from the fifth year onwards. On the other hand, in case of commercial farming, harvesting must be done from the sixth year. India is the world’s second largest cultivator of bamboo after China, with 136 species and 23 genera spread over 13.96 million hectares. Around 80 per cent of bamboo forests lie in Asia with India, China and Myanmar having 19.8 million hectares of bamboo.
